This policy explains the cancellation, withdrawal of subscription (cooling-off) and refund procedures for the UUP paid subscription service provided by Onetop (원탑) (the "Company"). Payment for the Service is processed through the Company's payment provider Paddle (Merchant of Record), and this policy reflects both Paddle's refund procedures and the right of withdrawal of subscription under the Korean Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce.
1. Basic principle — cancellation at the end of the period
- Unless the user asserts a separate statutory right of withdrawal or another ground for a refund, cancellation of a subscription applies by default at the point the current billing period ends. The Service can be used normally for the remainder of the period even after cancellation has been requested.
- Cancellation can be requested through the subscription management screen within the Service or through the Paddle customer portal (a temporary authentication link the Company issues for each request).
2. Statutory right of withdrawal of subscription
- Users may request withdrawal of subscription as provided by the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce.
- Given the nature of digital content and SaaS subscriptions, where use begins immediately, the exercise of the right of withdrawal may be restricted in the following cases.
- Where use of the Service began immediately upon payment at the user's request and the user consented to this in advance
- Where the value of the Service has been significantly diminished by the service already provided
- So that users can properly exercise the right of withdrawal, the Company provides a trial opportunity (a 14-day free trial) and advance notice before payment (the restrictions on withdrawal and information about the trial opportunity) on the payment confirmation screen.
- Where only part of a billing period has been used, a partial refund may be considered in respect of the divisible unused portion.
3. Refund (adjustment) handling and Paddle statuses
- When a user requests a refund (a discretionary refund or a refund following a statutory withdrawal of subscription), the Company confirms the reason for the request and then creates a full or partial adjustment against the completed Paddle transaction.
- A Live refund at Paddle is not confirmed immediately and may pass through the following remote statuses.
pending_approval— awaiting approvalapproved— approved and being refundedrejected— rejectedreversed— the refund has been cancelled or reversed
- The Company does not promise "immediate completion of the refund", and the UUP screens display the user's local request time and the remote statuses above separately.
- For requests confirmed as a valid statutory withdrawal of subscription, the Company requests the refund from Paddle within 3 business days and notifies the user of the progress. However, the actual point at which the refund completes may be later than that because of Paddle's approval process.
- Discretionary refunds (voluntary refunds as a matter of customer service) are received separately and the Company decides whether to approve them in accordance with its internal policy; this does not create any obligation to approve.
- Where a refund of the full payment amount is approved, the subscription ends immediately and the FREE plan policy applies. A refund and continued use do not coexist.
- The user does not choose whether a refund request is classified as a statutory withdrawal or as a discretionary refund; the Company first classifies it on the basis of the payment date (whether it is within 7 days of payment) and then makes a final determination according to the facts.
3-2. Pro-rata refunds on mid-term cancellation
- Even after the statutory withdrawal period has passed, users may request cancellation of the subscription part-way through a billing period together with a refund for the unused period (a "mid-term cancellation refund"). A mid-term cancellation refund is a discretionary refund under Article 3, Paragraph 5, and the Company approves it where the criteria set out in this Article are met.
- The refund amount is calculated on a daily basis as follows.
- Unused amount = payment amount × (remaining days ÷ total days in the billing period). Remaining days are counted in calendar days whose day boundary is midnight Korea Standard Time (Asia/Seoul), rounded down to whole days, and any remainder of less than one day is not refunded.
- Deduction = the greater of the following two amounts. The two amounts are not added together, and no other costs are deducted in addition.
- 10% of the unused amount
- The portion of the payment-processing fee for that payment (an actual cost that the payment provider does not return on refund) attributable to the unused period (fee × remaining days ÷ total days in the billing period)
- Refund amount = unused amount − deduction.
- The amounts are calculated by the Company's servers both at the time of the request and at the time of approval, and the request screen displays a breakdown of the unused days, the unused amount, the deduction and the refund amount. If the period of use advances because of processing delays, the refund amount may decrease following recalculation at the time of approval.
- When a mid-term cancellation refund is approved, the subscription ends immediately and the FREE plan policy applies (Article 3, Paragraph 6 applies mutatis mutandis). A refund and continued use do not coexist.
- The following cases are excluded from automatic calculation and are handled by individual review after a 1:1 inquiry (
https://uup.kr/support).
- Transactions more than 110 days after payment (constraints on the refund window of payment methods)
- Transactions that are not a single plan payment at list price, such as those involving plan-change proration, credit deductions or additional slots (add-ons)
- Transactions paid in a currency other than Korean won (KRW)
- While a refund request is under review, plan changes and additional-slot changes are not possible.
- The same criteria apply to mid-term cancellation refunds of annual payments (calculated pro rata on the actual annual payment amount). The discount benefit of annual pricing is not retroactively recovered.
- Transactions that are a single plan payment at a limited-time discounted price sold by the Company (such as early-bird offers) are, notwithstanding Paragraph 5, included in automatic calculation. The refund amount is calculated pro rata under the same criteria (Paragraph 2) on the basis of the discounted amount actually paid, not the list price; the discount benefit is not retroactively recovered, and no usage charge based on the list price is deducted. Other transactions involving mixed discounts or adjustments are handled by individual review under Paragraph 5. Where sale at the limited-time price has ended, the same price cannot be purchased again after the refund, and the Company notifies the user of this before accepting the refund request.
- Notwithstanding Paragraph 8, mid-term cancellation refunds for single plan payments at a limited-time discounted price that are paid on or after the effective date of v1.4 of this Policy (2026-08-22) are calculated as follows. A limited-time discounted price is offered on the premise that the full billing period will be used, so on mid-term cancellation the time used is settled at the undiscounted list price.
- Usage amount (list-price basis) = the plan's undiscounted list price (monthly list price × number of months in the billing period) × (days used ÷ total days in the billing period). Days used equals the total days minus the remaining days under Paragraph 2.
- Refund base = the amount actually paid − the usage amount (list-price basis). If this value is zero or below, the refund amount is zero, and the Company will not charge any additional amount in any case.
- Deduction = the greater of the following two amounts (Paragraph 2 applied mutatis mutandis): 10% of the refund base, or the unused-period portion of the actual payment-processing fee.
- Refund amount = refund base − deduction.
- For a plan change to a limited-time discounted price (including prorated payments), where the Company discloses on the change-confirmation screen that the settlement basis of this Paragraph applies to the entire subscription including payments made before the change and the user consents by proceeding, the mid-term cancellation refund for the entire subscription — including amounts paid before the effective date — is calculated under this Paragraph. In that case the usage amount (list-price basis) is calculated per period at the list price of the plan actually used in each period (the pre-change period at the pre-change plan's list price) and summed. Because a plan-change payment is not a single plan payment at list price, it is not subject to automatic calculation (Paragraph 5) and is calculated under this basis in individual review.
- The Company discloses this settlement basis on the payment screen before payment. Payments and plan changes made without this disclosure are governed by Paragraph 8 (each payment under the basis in force at the time of that payment).
- This Paragraph does not affect the statutory right of withdrawal under Article 2, and does not apply to transactions paid before the effective date (except in the case of the plan-change consent described above).
3-3. Full refund to resolve a dispute
- Where there is a dispute between the user and the Company concerning the quality of the Service, the provision of features, or the information given about them, the Company may, in order to resolve the dispute amicably, offer the user a full refund of the subscription payment together with termination of the subscription. The refund amount is the entire amount actually paid in cash less any prior refunds (excluding rejected or reversed ones), and the deductions under Article 3-2 (10% of the unused amount or the actual payment-processing fee) do not apply.
- This offer takes effect only when the user expressly accepts it. Upon acceptance, the Company and the user are deemed to have agreed to settle and conclude, by this refund, all civil claims relating to the payment concerned and the provision of and information about that subscription; the subscription terminates immediately and the FREE plan policy applies (Article 3, Paragraph 6 applied mutatis mutandis).
- If the user does not accept the offer, the subscription and use of the Service continue unchanged, and the Company does not restrict use of the Service or impose any disadvantage on the ground that the offer was declined.
- The offer is valid for 14 days from the date it is made and lapses when that period expires.
- Once the refund is completed, a subscription paid at a limited-time price such as an early-bird offer cannot be purchased again at the same price, and the Company discloses this together with the offer (Article 3-2, Paragraph 8 applied mutatis mutandis).
- The settlement-and-conclusion agreement in Paragraph 2 takes effect when the refund is actually completed. If the refund is rejected or reversed and cannot be completed, the Company will without delay carry out the refund by other means or consult the user on how to proceed.
- This Article does not affect the user's statutory right of withdrawal (Article 2), the right to request a mid-term cancellation refund (Article 3-2), the right to apply for dispute mediation under the Framework Act on Consumers, or any other statutory right or right that the parties cannot dispose of.
4. Settlement of plan changes and additional slots (add-ons)
- Upward changes (plan upgrades, purchases of additional slots, etc.) apply immediately, and only the amount proportionate to the period remaining until the next billing date is charged immediately. Thereafter the charge is combined with the existing subscription on the same billing date.
- Where an additional Instagram slot is reduced, the slot is reduced by one immediately and the amount proportionate to the unused part of the period already paid for is partially refunded to the original payment method for that slot. The actual refund follows Paddle's approval and the card issuer's processing schedule; if the refund is rejected or reversed, the reduced slot is restored. Reducing slots does not disconnect accounts that are already connected; only the connection of new accounts is restricted. Payment credits already accrued under the previous method do not lapse, and where no further charges will arise — for example because the subscription has been cancelled — a refund may be requested through a 1:1 inquiry (
https://uup.kr/support). - Downward plan changes (PRO→BASIC, annual→monthly) apply from the next billing cycle, and no refund or credit arises in respect of the period already paid for. The existing plan can be used as before until the downgrade takes effect.
5. Arrears (past_due) and grace policy
- Where a recurring payment fails and the subscription enters the
past_duestate, the Company leaves collection to Paddle's automatic retries (dunning) and does not create a separate scheduled charge. - For the first 7 days after
past_duearises, existing access rights are maintained (with a warning banner and a link for changing the payment method), but the creation of new paid automations is restricted. - From the 8th day, paid features (automations and the like) are suspended while data is preserved; when payment is collected and the subscription returns to
active, they are restored automatically. - If Paddle ultimately marks the subscription as
canceled, the FREE plan policy applies. This 7-day grace period does not itself change Paddle's retry schedule.
6. Winding up subscriptions on withdrawal
An account with an active or past-due paid subscription must complete one of the following before member withdrawal.
- Scheduling cancellation at the end of the period (the default route)
- Progressing and confirming a valid statutory refund request
Where cancellation is scheduled, withdrawal is executed only after the billing period ends or immediate cancellation is confirmed. Suspension of an account by an administrator blocks access to the Service only and does not automatically change the subscription or billing status.
7. How to apply and how to appeal
- Refund and cancellation requests: received through the subscription management screen within the Service, the Paddle customer portal, or a
/supportinquiry. - Appeals: where a refund has been rejected (
rejected) or reversed (reversed), users may request confirmation of the reason and a review through/support. - Contact: help@uup.kr /
https://uup.kr/support
8. Other
- Matters not provided for in this policy follow the UUP Terms of Service (
https://uup.kr/terms) and applicable law.
Supplementary provisions
- v1.0: effective 2026-07-20.
- v1.1: effective 2026-07-21 — added immediate termination of the subscription when a full refund is approved (Article 3, Paragraph 6), the Company's classification of statutory withdrawal versus discretionary refund (Article 3, Paragraph 7), and the settlement standards for plan changes and additional slots (Article 4).
- v1.2: effective 2026-07-21 — stated that where charges end due to cancellation or the like, remaining credits do not lapse and are refunded on request (Article 4, Paragraph 2), and added the obligation to disclose credits on the cancellation screen.
- v1.2.1: effective 2026-07-23 — changed the reduction of additional slots from accrual of payment credits to a partial refund of the unused portion to the original payment method (Article 4, Paragraph 2), and stated the procedure for restoring slots on rejection or reversal.
- v1.2.2: effective 2026-07-27 — reflected the extension of the trial opportunity (free trial) from 7 days to 14 days (Article 2, Paragraph 3). The withdrawal period (7 days after payment) is unchanged.
- v1.3: effective 2026-08-12 — added pro-rata refunds on mid-term cancellation (Article 3-2). A pro-rata refund of the unused period may be requested even after the statutory withdrawal period, with a deduction equal to the greater of 10% of the unused amount and the unused-period portion of the actual payment-processing fee. As this change grants users a new right, it applies immediately on the effective date, and this Article may also be applied where the policy in force at the time of purchase was less favourable.
- v1.3.1: effective 2026-08-12 — codified the mid-term refund treatment of transactions paid at limited-time discounted prices such as early-bird offers (Article 3-2, Paragraph 8): pro-rata calculation on the amount actually paid, no retroactive recovery of the discount, handling by individual review, and prior notice that the same price cannot be purchased again after a refund. As a change that clarifies processing criteria, it applies immediately on the effective date.
- v1.3.2: effective 2026-08-12 — included single plan payments at limited-time discounted prices (such as early-bird offers) in automatic calculation (amendment of Article 3-2, Paragraph 8). As a favourable change that enables immediate calculation of pro-rata refunds under the same criteria without individual review, it applies immediately on the effective date.
- v1.3.3: effective 2026-08-13 — clarified that the day boundary for counting remaining days is midnight Korea Standard Time (Asia/Seoul) (Article 3-2, Paragraph 2). Previously the count used 24-hour blocks anchored to the payment time, so the moment a day was deducted differed per user. As a change that clarifies the calculation basis, it applies immediately on the effective date.
- v1.4: published 2026-08-15, effective 2026-08-22 — added list-price-basis settlement for limited-time discounted prices such as early-bird offers (Article 3-2, Paragraph 9). For limited-time discounted payments made on or after the effective date, the mid-term cancellation refund is calculated on the basis of "amount actually paid − usage at the undiscounted list price" rather than the unused amount, with pre-payment disclosure on the payment screen as a condition of validity. For plan changes to a limited-time discounted price, this basis applies to the entire subscription (including payments made before the change) where the user consents to the disclosure on the change-confirmation screen. It does not apply retroactively to transactions paid before the effective date (except in the case of plan-change consent, and only where the user expressly consented on the change screen). As a newly added provision unfavourable to users, it takes effect after a seven-day advance notice period from publication and applies only to new payments and plan changes on or after the effective date.
- v1.5: published and effective 2026-08-22 — added full refund to resolve a dispute (Article 3-3). Where there is a dispute concerning the Service, the Company may offer the user a full refund without deductions together with termination of the subscription; the offer takes effect only when the user expressly accepts it (upon acceptance, civil claims relating to the payment concerned are settled and concluded), and declining it carries no disadvantage whatsoever. It does not affect statutory rights such as the right of withdrawal, mid-term cancellation refunds, or applications for dispute mediation. As a favourable change that grants users a new option, it applies immediately on the date of publication.
