Recipe Book AI Assistant — import from 10000recipe and generate AI cover and step photos
We cut down the manual work of building a Recipe Book page. One 10000recipe post address brings in the name, ingredients, and steps as a draft, and with your own Gemini API key you can rewrite the cooking instructions in your own voice or generate a cover image and step photos with AI. It opened on August 20, 2026.
What it does
- Import from 10000recipe: paste a post address and press Import as draft, and the recipe name, intro, servings, ingredients, and steps are filled in as a draft. A tools list comes along if there is one, and the source is attached to the intro automatically.
- Rewrite in your voice: the intro and the cooking instructions are rewritten according to the voice guidance you set in page settings. You always see a preview first, and nothing is applied until you press Apply as is.
- AI cover: a single cover is generated from the recipe name and its key ingredients. Your cover photo style (photographic, studio, illustration) and photo mood guidance are reflected, and you can also point to one reference photo.
- Bulk step photos: photos that fit the steps without one are generated, up to 15 at a time. The whole recipe follows the same scene setup, so the background, dishes, and lighting stay consistent.
How to turn it on
You need all three: the Basic plan or higher, or the 14-day free trial; a Recipe Book style page; and a Gemini API key.
- Sign in to Google AI Studio (https://aistudio.google.com/apikey), issue a key with Create API key, and copy it.
- In Dashboard > Pages, open the settings of your Recipe Book page, paste the key into the Gemini API key field on the Recipe AI Assistant card, then press Verify and save.
- Switch on Import from 10000recipe + AI Assistant, and import, rewrite, and cover generation appear on the recipe writing screen.
Good to know
- AI generation charges go to your own Google account, not to UUP. Within the free allowance Google gives you, there is no charge.
- The key is stored per account and the original is never shown again (only the last 4 characters appear). You can delete it at any time.
- Import works one post at a time, up to 30 per hour. Photos from the original post belong to its author, so they are not imported.
- Rewriting leaves measurements, times, temperatures, and heat levels exactly as they are. If any number comes back different, the result is discarded and the original stands.
- The high-quality (Pro) option on the image generation model costs about 3 times the standard rate per image. Photos you uploaded yourself are unaffected by AI generation or clearing.
