If an account disconnects, we'll remind you again until you reconnect

Until now, when an Instagram, Threads, Facebook Page, YouTube, or TikTok connection broke, we sent a notification only once, at the moment it broke. If you missed it, an Auto DM could stay on for weeks without sending any comment DMs, or scheduled posts could fail one by one at their publish times. Now, if you're still using the account, we send the same notification again every 7 days, up to 4 times, until you reconnect.

What it does

  • Seven days after a connection breaks, a new notification arrives in your dashboard Notifications (the bell). After that we send one every 7 days, up to 4 times in all (about a month).
  • The notification says how many days things have been paused. For example: "@account Your Instagram connection is still broken, so auto DMs have been paused for 14 days. Reconnect to resume your DM automations."
  • If scheduled posts are still waiting, it also says "N scheduled posts won't go out until you reconnect."
  • We only send it for accounts you're still using: an Auto DM is on, or an Upload Pro / Ultra (or trial) member is using the account for auto-upload (for example, scheduled posts are waiting, or you posted with it in the 30 days before it disconnected).

How to use it

  1. Tap the notification. Instagram Auto DM notifications take you to the Instagram screen, and the others take you to the Channels screen. You can also open Dashboard > Connections > Channels yourself.
  2. Find the disconnected account and press its button: Reconnect now on the Instagram screen, or Reconnect on the Channels screen. For a Facebook Page, the button is Add publishing permission (auto-upload) or Add DM permission (Auto DM).
  3. Sign in with the same account and allow all the requested permissions, and you're done. Your Auto DM and auto-upload pick up where they left off.

Good to know

  • Once you reconnect, the reminders stop, and any reminders you haven't read yet disappear from your notifications.
  • The reminders also stop if you disconnect the account, or if you turn off every Auto DM on an account you only used for Auto DM.
  • Accounts that had already been disconnected for a long time before this feature launched get the reminder only once.
  • If the account disconnects again after you reconnect, the count starts over from the beginning.
  • If several accounts disconnect together, each account gets its own notification.
  • TikTok Business connections for automatic comment replies are not covered by these reminders.
