How to Schedule Facebook Page Posts (2026) — Meta Business Suite Steps, the 30-Day Wall, and Profiles vs Pages

If you mainly use Instagram and start running a Facebook Page alongside it, scheduling is the first thing that trips you up. The Facebook app shows no schedule button, and search results point to "use Creator Studio" — a tool that no longer exists. Today the official route for scheduling Facebook Page posts is Meta Business Suite, and personal profiles were never eligible in the first place. This post covers the Business Suite steps and conditions, the "30-day wall" where the official docs and the actual screen disagree, and what changes for people who also post to Instagram and Threads through an auto-upload tool.

Before you read: Business Suite scheduling steps are anchored on Meta's Business Help Center article "Create and manage posts in Meta Business Suite on desktop", with menu names and the scheduling window taken from public guides updated June 2026 and screens checked in September 2026. Meta changes its screens often, so confirm the selectable range in your own account. This post is written by the UUP team, which builds an auto-upload feature that includes Facebook Pages.

1. First — profiles and Pages are different

Facebook scheduling exists only for Pages. Personal profiles (the friend-based account) have no scheduling, and external tools effectively can't automate profiles either because Meta blocks it. Half of all "Facebook scheduling doesn't work" questions are people looking on a profile.

If you don't have a Page, create one on Facebook first. Linking your Instagram account to the Page lets you manage both from one Business Suite screen — though if your only goal is using an Instagram Auto DM tool, the Page link isn't required (when a Page link is and isn't needed).

2. Scheduling in Meta Business Suite — steps

Desktop

  1. Go to business.facebook.com → confirm the correct Page is selected at the top left
  2. Create post → write the body, attach photos, video, or a link → check the preview on the right
  3. Next to the publish button, open the scheduling options and set the date and time
  4. Schedule → the post enters the queue and publishes automatically at that time

Mobile (Meta Business Suite app): select the Page → CreatePost → compose → in the publish menu tap Schedule → pick date and time.

Scheduled posts appear in Planner (calendar) or the Content list; click one to edit, reschedule, or delete. With an Instagram account linked, you can schedule Instagram posts from the same screen.

3. Conditions and limits — the "30-day wall" where docs and screen disagree

ItemValue
What can be scheduledPage posts (photo, video, link, multi-photo)
Minimum lead timeAbout 20 minutes before publish time (per public guides)
Maximum windowMeta's docs say 75 days, but through 2026 many Page owners report only about 30 days selectable on both desktop and mobile
CostFree

The 30-day wall is more confusing because it's absent from official docs. If you want to lay out a campaign more than a month ahead, check the furthest selectable date in your own Planner first, and handle the rest another way (section 4).

This is enough when: one Page, schedules within a month, and post-publish link follow-ups done by hand are fine. It's free and the safest route, so we recommend starting here.

4. What changes with an auto-upload tool — UUP as the example

UUP's auto-upload publishes to five channels — Instagram, Threads, Facebook Pages, YouTube, and TikTok — at the time you set (all five open to members as of September 2026). Connect your Facebook Page from the Scheduled posts menu in the dashboard.

  • Connect with an account that has Page management rights. You pick the Page to post to during connection; with several Pages, connect each one separately. Connecting with an account that has no Page is reported immediately as "no Pages" — the fix is creating a Page, not retrying.
  • The same post goes to Facebook, Instagram, and Threads at once. Links in Facebook posts are clickable while Instagram caption links aren't, so on the Instagram side the first comment is pre-filled with your link page URL.
  • No 30-day wall. UUP doesn't hand posts to Facebook's own scheduler; UUP's queue publishes directly at the scheduled time. If a schedule lived in two places (Facebook and UUP), some day a cancel or edit would apply to only one, and the outcome — a deleted post going live — can't be undone. So schedules more than a month out sit on the UUP calendar as-is.
  • Drafts, a monthly calendar, failure causes with a retry button, and D-3 / D-1 advance notice for expiring connections and re-consent work the same as on other channels.

One honest note. Automatic first comments aren't available on Facebook Pages yet. The permission needed to comment on Pages is a separate Meta review item we haven't requested, so first comments currently attach on Instagram and Threads only. Since Facebook body links are clickable, put the link in the body.

5. Specs for Facebook Page posts

ItemValue (UUP)
PhotosJPEG or PNG, 4MB each (PNG recommended under 1MB)
Multi-photo2–10 items
VideoMP4 or MOV, up to 300MB and 30 minutes (UUP pipeline limit)
LinksBody links are clickable

In a bundle that also goes to Instagram, Instagram's specs (JPEG only, 8MB each, 2,200-character caption, 30 hashtags) apply alongside. The editor counts per-channel limits separately and rejects at save time — if it failed at publish time, you'd be asleep.

6. Plans

UUP auto-upload is available on Upload Pro ($8.49/month), Ultra ($14.99/month, includes Auto DM), and the 14-day trial. Not included in DM Pro. An anti-abuse monthly publishing cap applies (trial 100, Upload Pro 300, Ultra 600).

FAQ

Can't I schedule directly from the Facebook app?

The Page posting screen in the Facebook app sometimes shows a schedule option, but the range is narrow and varies by account. The reliable route is Business Suite (web or the dedicated app).

Can I use Business Suite scheduling and UUP scheduling together?

Yes, but the same post scheduled in both places goes out twice. Pick one and keep the other queue empty.

My scheduled post didn't go up after the time passed

In Business Suite, check the post's status in Planner. In UUP, the failed row shows the cause — usually an expired connection, publishing permission not granted, or changed Page rights — and reconnecting as the account card instructs fixes it.
