Coupang Partners on TikTok (2026) — What You Need to Start, Where Links Actually Get Tapped, Disclosure Text, and When the In-App Browser Blocks You

You post a TikTok featuring a Coupang product, paste your Coupang Partners link into the caption, and viewers ask, "Where's the link?" Search results mix together "you need a business registration," "a business account is enough," and "you need 1,000 followers," and few of them cite an official source. This post doesn't promise any results. Instead, based on official material, it covers what Coupang requires when you run Coupang Partners on TikTok, where a Coupang link on TikTok actually gets tapped, where the disclosure text goes, and what to do when TikTok's in-app browser blocks a Coupang link.

Before you read: The Coupang side is based on Coupang Partners' official user guide (February 2025 edition, checked October 2026). TikTok's profile link conditions and in-app browser policy are based on TikTok's official help article Linking another social media account (checked September 2026). We couldn't find official TikTok documentation on caption and comment links or on whether TikTok Shop is available in Korea, so those parts are based on public sources and may change. This post is written by the UUP team, which builds link pages and TikTok auto-upload. Coupang Partners is Korea's largest affiliate program, run by the e-commerce company Coupang.

1. What Coupang requires when you run Coupang Partners on TikTok

There's no Coupang-side requirement that applies only because you use TikTok. You need the same three things as on any other channel.

RequirementPer the Coupang Partners user guideWhat to handle for TikTok
Sign-up typeIf you don't issue tax invoices, choose "Individual" or "Individual business"; if you do, choose "Corporate/Individual business." For the Individual type, withholding tax is deducted before payouts reach your registered accountOn the Coupang sign-up side alone, an Individual type exists. Whether you need a business registration for tax purposes is something to settle with a tax advisor for your situation
Activity page registrationRegister "every page that has a Partners link/banner." Even if you entered a placeholder at sign-up, you must edit or add pages once you startRegister both your TikTok account URL and the page that actually holds your Coupang links (a link page, for example)
Final approvalOnce cumulative sales reach ₩150,000, the final-approval channel review starts automatically. Passing it unlocks payouts and the Partners APICheck that your registered activity pages match the pages where sales actually happen. Prepare screenshots showing the link and the disclosure text together

The common claim that "TikTok requires a business registration" mixes in a different story: verifying a business account on TikTok to unlock the profile link field, not Coupang sign-up. Separating the two clears up most of the confusion. The approval steps are covered in detail in How to get approved for Coupang Partners.

2. Where a Coupang link actually gets tapped on TikTok

TikTok offers few places for external links. Bottom line: for a regular account, the only place a Coupang link is reliably tappable is the website field on your profile.

TikTok Shop product linksNot applicable in KoreaPublic sources say Korea isn't a TikTok Shop selling region as of July 2026 (Z Media). We couldn't confirm any official TikTok announcement of a Korea launch (checked October 2026)

We couldn't find a TikTok help article that states captions and comments aren't clickable. But public sources consistently say "the text shows, but you can't tap it," and the channel notes we compiled while building UUP auto-upload also classify links in TikTok captions as not clickable. That's why saying "the product is in my profile link" out loud or in an on-screen caption has become the standard approach.

How to unlock the profile link field and what to check when it doesn't appear are covered separately in How to add a link to your TikTok profile. The one thing to know here: there's only one field, so if you put a single Coupang product link in it, the product in your next video has nowhere to go.

3. Put the disclosure in the video, the caption, and the landing page

The Coupang Partners user guide says to include the disclosure on "every post published as part of Partners activity," and gives this recommended Korean sentence:

이 게시물은 쿠팡 파트너스 활동의 일환으로, 이에 따른 일정액의 수수료를 제공받습니다.

("This post is part of Coupang Partners activity, and I receive a fixed commission from it.")

The placement is "the title or the beginning of the post." The same guide lists a missing disclosure as the top reason final approval gets rejected. On TikTok, that means three places:

  • On-screen caption in the video: The user guide doesn't set a separate rule for in-video disclosure, but viewers may never expand the caption, so we recommend also adding it as an on-screen caption at the start of the video.
  • First line of the caption: The end of a caption folds behind "more," so put it at the very front.
  • The page your profile link lands on: If your link page lists Coupang products, that page is itself a post with Partners links. Put the disclosure at the very top, before the product list.

On a UUP link page, the notice in the editor does this job. If a page has Coupang links but no disclosure, the editor tells you, and one checkbox inserts the standard disclosure sentence. The definitive breakdown by placement, plus wording to avoid, is in Coupang Partners disclosure text.

4. When TikTok's in-app browser blocks a Coupang link

TikTok's official help says tapping a profile link opens TikTok's in-app browser, and that it restricts following chains of external links inside that browser. From Coupang's side, the problem is simple: Coupang Partners credits purchases for 24 hours from the moment a visitor taps your quick link and arrives at Coupang (The Coupang Partners 24-hour rule), so when TikTok intercepts the move from your link page to Coupang with its "open this link in a browser" screen, the visitor leaves without ever reaching Coupang. Why this restriction happens and how we handled a September 2026 Android in-app error are covered in detail in our TikTok profile link post.

At this point, a UUP link page shows visitors how to open it in an external browser.

BehaviorDetails
Open-in-browser guideThe "TikTok open-in-browser guide" switch under Page settings → Features. Available on every plan and on by default
What visitors seeVisitors arriving from the TikTok app see a bottom sheet once per session — "Links may not open in the TikTok app" — that walks them through "Tap the ⋯ button in the top right" → "Choose 'Open in browser'." It appears in Korean, English, or Japanese depending on the visitor's language
What it doesn't doIt doesn't force visitors into an external browser, because forced redirects fail silently on some TikTok versions

5. Many products behind one link — link pages and automatic conversion

With only one profile field, the practical setup is to put one link page URL there and add or remove products on that page as your videos change. You no longer need to reopen TikTok's profile editor.

How to tidy up Coupang links is in Shortening Coupang Partners links, and the full Instagram flow is in our hub post Coupang Partners × Instagram.

You can schedule the videos themselves with auto-upload. UUP auto-upload posts through TikTok's official Content Posting API, and TikTok direct posting has been available since September 14, 2026 (you can also choose to send to drafts). Connect your TikTok account under Connections → Channels, then schedule from Auto-upload. It's included in Upload Pro ($8.49/month) and Ultra ($14.99/month), and signing up opens a 14-day trial with no card required (no automatic charge). One caveat: TikTok has no first-comment option — TikTok doesn't offer a comment API. A link in your caption won't be tappable no matter which tool posts it, so send people to your profile link. The scheduling steps are in How to schedule TikTok uploads.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a business registration to run Coupang Partners on TikTok?

The Coupang Partners user guide includes an "Individual" sign-up type that doesn't issue tax invoices. Talk of business registration usually comes from verifying a business account to unlock TikTok's profile link field, or from tax handling. TikTok's condition is 1,000+ followers or a verified business account; for taxes, settle it with a tax advisor for your situation.

If I put a shortened Coupang link in my TikTok caption, will it be tappable?

Per public sources, caption URLs show as plain text regardless of their form. A short URL only makes it easier for viewers to type by hand. If you need taps, send people to your profile link.

Does routing through a link page break Coupang's commission tracking?

A link page is an intermediate page that sends visitors to your Coupang quick link, so tracking follows Coupang Partners' own rules. But if TikTok's in-app browser blocks the move to Coupang and the visitor leaves, that click never reaches Coupang. Keep the open-in-browser guide on, and check how tracking works after the click in The Coupang Partners 24-hour rule.
